We called Sunset Tree Service around 6 PM after a tree had fallen onto our house, and they were at our place first thing the very next morning. They got right to work removing the tree safely and efficiently, and they also took the time to walk us through recommendations to help protect our home in the future. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and quality of work were exceptional.I highly recommend Sunset Tree Service to anyone in the Traverse City area who needs fast, reliable, and knowledgeable help.
Had issue with tree branches onto house and roof. Reached out and Dave promptly got back to me. He quoted reasonable price and time frame to work my small job in. Called me day before to confirm date. Received call from crew when 30 minutes out. VERY professional work and absolute spic and span cleanup. Ten stars.
Dave had come out to my house and assessed the Pine trees that needed removal and some trimming that needed to happen. Proposal was very reasonable. Crew, led by Aaron showed in a timely manner and in a hour and a half had completed all work and clean up. Very courteous and professional! Would highly recommend.
We are new to the area and were referred to Dave and the Sunset team. We couldn’t be more pleased with the service we received - from the first call, to the survey and quote, to the finished product! Ben came out quickly after our initial call and walked with us through our property offering expert guidance regarding multiple and various trees, specifically a dying Oak tree near the house. The team ( Aaron, Roman, and Tyler) removed 5 trees just after a snowfall of 4-5 inches - they were all so polite, efficient, and professional! They took great care of our property and were super respectful to our neighbors and neighborhood. We are BIG Sunset Tree Removal fans and would recommend them unconditionally!!
The four person team ( Aaron, Ethan, Tyler and Tyler #2) from Sunset did a GREAT JOB. They were on time, efficient and professional. They spotted branches we had missed. They thoroughly cleaned up the yard and the street after the job. Very nice group. We will definitely hire them again
They did a outstanding job on removing a very large willow that was in a difficult place to get to which required them to lay down plywood for all their equipment since they did not want to do any damage to the lawn. Their team is professional, courteous and cleaned up afterward, in fact, so good that you wouldn't know they were even there had it not been for the tree being removed. I would highly recommend them.
If you are looking for a high quality professional tree service we recommend Sunset Tree Service. Safety is priority with this company. Dave Scott and his crew did an amazing job removing a 100 ft + tall white pine tree that had become a safety hazard to our family and home. The tree was located in an awkward position between our home and garage. Mr. Scott and his crew removed the tree with precision that is second to none. The crew worked in a professional and positive manner while maintaining a sense of humor that put us at ease in a very stressful situation. We were also very impressed with the clean up of the work area after the tree was removed. We would like to extend a big thank you to Thomas, Aaron, Ken, and Dave for a job well done. Thank you, Jennifer & Richard Elliott
Great service by Sunset, phenomenal job. Trimmed and removed several trees in my yard. Appreciated the professionalism and the attention to detail. Cleanup and restoration was Top Notch. Would highly recommend.
Sunset Dave and his crew are incredible! They handle the toughest of jobs with professionalism and expertise. They arrived on time, carefully analyzed the trees and work area, figured out a work plan then got to work and got the job done. Very friendly crew to talk with and watch them work, they make it look easy, but I can state from firsthand experience that it is not. Tree work is extremely dangerous brutal tough physical work that requires a high degree of knowledge, safety practices and expertise. I do some tree and trail building work around my land with excavator, track loader, saws etc, however there are some jobs I will absolutely not attempt myself, its not worth the risk of injury (or worse) to myself, buildings, equipment; anyone who has done tree work knows that things can go wrong real fast. That's why I called in the professionals at Sunset Tree Service for this job, they climbed to the top of 80-90 foot trees with 6-8 trunks coming out of the bases, rigged up ropes, communicated with the ground crew, cut and safely lowered them down piece by piece without damaging any of the surrounding pine trees or buildings and other trees were roped, cut and pulled down and landed in the exact locations they planned for. Very happy with the work they have done and will be calling them out for other jobs in the future.
Dave, Aaron, Eli, Roman and Tyler are not only the best tree removal team in northern Michigan, they are surely the friendliest! They were super easy to work with and learn from. They had a very difficult task in front of them in needing to take down a 90 foot tree, that was amongst other trees that we hoped to keep, and with large, heavy branches that hung over a portion of our house. There was not a scratch on the other trees and nothing came close to our house. I am struggling to find the right superlatives to write to fully describe the job they did: Professional. Expert. Quality Plus. Experienced. Remarkable. Dave was incredibly fair in his quote and somehow found a hole in his schedule to prioritize taking down the 90 foot tree that had split at its base--along with other trees that needed removal. When they left, outside of the canopy having changed, you could not tell they had ever been there. Dave and his crew are the best of the best.
Five stars for Sunset Tree Removal! They did a fantastic job with the removal of our giant Elm tree. An engineering masterpiece dropped without damage to our decking or flower beds. Super clean up too!
Sunset Tree Service came to our yard yesterday. We are very happy with their professional work, tree trimming, tree removal and they even cut the big logs into 16 inch pieces for firewood. The price was good and we even got a better rate when we bundled their service with two other neighbors. Aaron did the 3rd story work, removing the neighbor's tall maple. That guy is awesome, he cut each branch and dropped them safely without damaging the house underneath. One other thing, they cleaned up the entire area, almost didn't know they were there. Great Job! Frank Kidd
Worked with us in removing trees in a standing forest without damaging any trees, or the boat that was stored below the limbs of a tree that needed to be removed. Easy to work with! Their cleanup was incredible- even removed debris that had fallen on the lake ice, with a leaf blower. Wood was cut and chipped and I now have firewood for next winter and mulch for my garden.
Professional team arrived on time; Dave was there and we reviewed what was to be done; his chief trimmer did an excellent job; other team members were attentive to detail and picked up the site perfectly. An excellent value; highly recommended.
Sunset Tree Service was very pleasurable to deal with. Dave was very punctual and professional. I was recommended this crew from a friend and have given their number out numerous times since. I would highly recommend them as they are very knowledgeable and pleasurable to have lend a hand.
Knowledgeable, capable and professional. Their team took down two dead white pines that were inches from my house and twice the height. Each piece cut with efficiency and landed with accuracy on plywood protection. Then they cleaned it up so we'll wt was like they were never there.
We were extremely pleased with Sunset Tree Service. Their service was efficient, reliable, consistent and did an amazing clean up. We had 11 trees removed from our property. After seeing the finished product I was like a child on Christmas morning. My husband and I were in awe of their skills of chopping up a very risky and large tree from start to finish. I would highly recommend this company ????
Efficient team work by Sunset Tree Removal. I had read other positive reviews, called Dave Scott and got attentive response quickly. Very fair price and very good clean up. They recommend a stump grinder.
Three trees led to thirteen yesterday and they got it all done in one day. They were there until 8 pm and were meticulous about clean up and the price was very reasonable. My neighbor noticed as well and is using them today.
First time I hired Dave and his crew from sunset. Glad I did. Got a quote, and got the job completed within several days of my phone call. Job price was very reasonable. Also very pleased with the way the crew conducted themselves. They were friendly with my 3 kids, appreciated the work, professional, and treated us like neighbors. Thanks sunset for fitting us in as quick as you did. I would highly recommend.
Wow! Dave responded so quickly and brought his team the day immediately after the storm. It was a huge mess, very complicated the way the trees fell. They did an amazing job, very fair price and they even protected my little Japanese maple as I asked. We live in the middle of a forest so we will definitely call them back! Wonderful experience!
Sunset Tree Service was the BEST tree service company I have ever worked with before. I would consider them #1 in Northern Michigan. Dave and the crew were on time, very friendly, very efficient and careful with execution of cutting down and trimming trees. They were all AWESOME!! Thank You..
When high winds brought a big pine tree down on the deck of our cottage, Sunset Tree Service was there to help! They were able to get to us quickly despite being very busy, and cleaned up the tree for us fast and efficiently. Dave (the owner) and his entire crew are extremely polite, hardworking, and knowledgeable. They are a pleasure to deal with and highly recommended!
Called and Dave gave me a same day quote. Crew showed up within the timeframe he provided. The team was polite and professional. They removed multiple trees and, trimmed dead limbs from 3 ornamental trees. My property was immaculate when they left. My neighbor even commented on the great job they did cleaning up. Reasonable priced. I will call them again in the future and I would recommend them.
Called Dave to have some trees removed. Just happened that Dave was close to my house when l called. He stopped by and gave me a quote on the spot which was very reasonable. I asked Dave to put me on the list to have the job done. Later that day Dave called and said the crew would be coming by our house later in the day and would complete the job. The entire crew was very professional and cut our trees then cleaned all the debris. I would have given Dave and his crew more than five stars if possible. My recommendation to anybody needing tree work would be to call Sunset Tree Removal.
This is the most Professional and by far the Best tree service to work with when you need trees taken down. I had such bad experiences with the two Other businesses that I previously used. Dave Scott actually had to come to my rescue when one place just never showed back up to finish the job. I unfortunately had already paid them, like an idiot. But Sunset came in and took care of the job with a lot less damage to the property. I have used their services at least 5 times now and will never get anyone else. The crew is so competent and polite and clean up EVERYTHING so wellðŸ‘‼ï¸â£ï¸ I would recommend them totally‼ï¸
This is the second time I've used Dave Scott & his crew. They were prompt and professional from the initial assessment/quote, to the involved tree removal and cleanup once again. Dave's crew was respectful and attentive to my needs and very thorough. I would highly recommend Sunset Tree Service to anyone, Great Job!
Awesome company and crew! We hired Dave and his team to remove some trees, and we were so happy we did. They're by far the best tree company we've ever hired. They were extremely professional, on time, and reasonably priced! They removed some cedars around our gardens and they took great care not to impact any of the surrounding plants. Their clean up with exceptional. They raked the yard, blew off the deck, and removed all cuttings. We will be using them again and would highly recommend!
This is the first review I've ever written--I just had to recommend Sunset Tree Service. They had an estimate for us within 48 hours. We were kept apprised of their schedule and the job was completed well within the time frame they identified. The team who trimmed our maple was efficient, friendly, and very knowledgeable. It was clear that Sunset hires people who are passionate about trees and what they do. They had a vision for the job and executed it with confidence-- I would never go anywhere else for future jobs! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Amy M. Traverse City
I couldn't be more pleased with the tree removal service provided by Dave Scott and his crew. Dave Scott is the owner of sunset Tree Service in Traverse City (not to be confused with sunset tree service in Bay City). Every phase of the operation was excellent. They provided written proof of insurance coverage and a very reasonable estimate. They removed ten medium-to-large trees and cleaned up in one day. Several trees were removed from challenging locations with no damage to the surrounding trees. Thomas May, the team's climber, proved to be an experienced and professional climber. I was very impressed by the professionalism and teamwork of the entire crew.
Best tree service I've ever used! Dave was prompt in getting here for an estimate, scheduled the work at my convenience - not his - and they did a great job. I didn't want a bucket truck and heavy equipment tearing up my yard and they did an amazing job climbing and bringing down some huge trees without even bruising any of my flower garden. Fantastic cleanup - my yard looked better after they left than it did before they got there! AND, if that weren't enough, they were all friendly, introduced themselves, were polite and helpful. Oh - and did I mention that the price was very reasonable? A total class act - I will definitely use them again!
Dave and his crew are the best. I hired them to take down an old blue spruce that had been started from a seed and gifted to our family in the early 1900's. It had all kinds of sentiment and memories, but was sick and its time had come. They were all so respectful of our feelings, our stories and of all of my little daycare children watching through the windows. In our cramped city lot they were skillful dismantling the tree and getting it out and when I asked them to leave a couple stumps for the kids they cut one into a little chair. Their work was great, their clean up meticulous and their rates were more than fair. I'm so grateful we found them.
